A Little About Myself . . .

I was born August 14, 1971 (that's 30 years old, and yes, I'm a child of the seventies; Generation X and all that good stuff) in Greensboro, North Carolina and have lived here all my life. I graduated High School from Southeast Guilford in 1989. I then went on to receive a BS in Computer Science from UNC Greensboro in May of 1994. Click Here for a picture of me. I have just moved to Wilmington, NC, on Feb 5, 1996. And I've just moved back to Gboro on Oct 6, 2001.

My Hobbies . . .

Sports
I enjoy participating in a lot of sports and physical exercise, some of my favorites include: basketball, softball, baseball, tennis, volleyball, golf, inline skating, water skiing, snow skiing, etc...

Music
I listen to all types of music (except country, which isn't real music anyway), but my focus is on 60s, especially the Beach Boys and early British Invasion. I am also a very avid collector of 60s music, vinyl and CD. Check out my music page.

Photography
I used to be into photography so much I used a roll of film a week, but other things have taken my time away. I enjoy taking shots of pets, nature, females, and sports (not necessarily in that order). I have a small portfolio online.

Videography
If you look at my work experience, you'll see I've had a lot of training in this area. I have finished many projects including:
  • a 45-minute video yearbook (directing, editing, and lot of the shooting).
  • several 1-2 minute promos for the video yearbook focusing on different aspects of the video.
  • several video magazine articles, between 3-5 minutes (in 1994, the Kaleidoscope changed from a Video Yearbook to a Video Magazine).
  • a 6-minute silent movie titled The Chase, reminiscent of the olden days of film.
  • several music videos (nothing for actual broadcast).
  • over a dozen weddings and receptions (yep, I actually got paid).

Computers
I got my first one when I was 12 (TI 99/4a) and learned to program in BASIC; then I saved up and bought a Commodore 64. I learned its BASIC and actually programmed my first game ever (a ripoff of Wheel of Fortune). It wasn't very graphics intensive but it worked just like the real show. I just got my first real compatible in Nov 1994, a Gateway 2000 Pentium 66 with all the works.

Cooking
I consider myself to be a pretty decent cook, I love to experiment. I enjoy trying to make up new combinations of foods (stews, sauces, alcoholic drinks, etc.). Click here to see my Drink Stuff page.

Chess
I used to play chess all the time, I even started the chess club in high school (what a geek). I learned how to play when I was about 7 and when I hit my teen years, I studied up on it and actually excelled quite a bit in it.

Putt-Putt
Don't laugh, I used to play in tournaments. I never made any real money but I usually shot around 30-34 (par is 36).
