Web Hosting
Once I design your site, I can host it also. Here's what you get:
Your Own Domain Name
Your company would be listed with The Little Village and would also have your own domain
name url of 'http://www.company.com/'. I'll find an available name for you, register it, pay for it,
and charge you the $35 annual fee so you only have to write checks to one company. The '.com'
will be owned by you and I will be listed as the technical contact. (Basically, if you don't like
me a year from now, you can switch it to someone else without a problem but I really really doubt
you won't like me ;)
20 MB of space
This is all the space a small company would need, no matter how in-depth you wanted to go. If a bigger site is needed
for such options as databases, then I'll quote you the going rate for more space.
Almost Unlimited Transfer
With this program, you can have up to 2 gig of transfer a month ... that's a whole lot and I'll almost guarantee
that you won't ever get near it. My company has to put some type of limit on it or they'll get people on the server
that will abuse the privilege and that means that your site would probably slow to a crawl.
1 POP E-mail Account
You can have a true e-mail account of 'sales@company.com'. More are available if needed
and I will quote you pricing on those at the time you need them.
Unlimited E-Mail redirects
This means that you could have a
'support@company.com' and 'sales@company.com' that each pointed to the e-mail address of your local Internet
Service Provider. And, you could have an email address for each of your employees that simply 'forwarded' the message
to their own personal internet email provider (or a free hotmail account). You'd be able to always put their (email@company.com) on their business
cards adding that much more professionalism to your business.
Unlimited Subdomains
You can have several areas of your company you may want to advertise and you can specify a website as:
yourname.domain.com ... (for instance, you can type rcg.thelittlevillage.com to get to this site). This could be a
great way to add employee's personal webpages to the site and have their name in the address.
Cgi-bin access
This means you can have cool stuff like counters
and e-mail forms. I can set these up for you (for a fee of course :)
Password Protection
You can have a directory password-protected for you and your staff to keep anything you don't want the rest of the
world to know about. A good example is an admin program that allows you to change your online database.
Stats Page
You will be able to check your stats on your page as often as you like.
Free submission to Major Search Engines
I will submit your URL (website) to all the major search engines for free.
My Personal Recommendation
The actual machine that hosts your site is not located in hurricane-prone Wilmington, as some have asked.
The physical location of the website is in New Jersey which isn't a magnet for tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes,
tsunamis, or riots. Actually, as far as I'm concerned, hosting a web page is about the only thing New Jersey is
good for ;-)
More
There's actually more that you get, but its all technical jargon and I really don't want to bore you with it just
to make me look good (example: php, mysql, perl, c, ssi access).
COST
$25 setup charge (includes setting up all the specifics on your site)
$20 a month (1 month free if pre-paid annually)
Other
For a 50 mb site with a mysql database and 4 gig of transfer, the price is $30/month.
